Pink and Carey Hart have been married for 12 years now, which is basically a lifetime when you’re a celebrity. The couple have two children and Carey has joined Pink on her most recent tour. They have had a lot of highs and lows during that time, but in the end love has always won. Read on to find out things you didn’t know about their relationship.
Anniversary.
For Pink and Carey Hart’s 12th wedding anniversary this year, the singer shared a sweet post about it on Instagram. She wrote, “12 years married today. 16 if ya count the 4 years we spent deciding if we were going to live together forever or kill each other. It’s been a nice mix of that ever since. Get em’ young and train em’ ladies. I still have a crush on you [Carey].”
Highs and Lows.
They have been together for a long time, and throughout their relationship they’ve experienced a lot of highs and lows, but in the end love has always won. Carey and their two kids have joined Pink for her world tour right now and they seem blissfully happy. But there are some things about their relationship that you might not know about.
First Meeting.
The couple first met back in 2001 when they attended the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia–Carey is a retired motocross racer. They soon started dating after that–he even starred in her music video for Just Like a Pill… but they split for a little while in 2003.
They “Grew Up” Together.
Okay, no, they didn’t know each other as kids–I mean, we just covered when they met. In this case it means that they evolved together and shared some big changes that helped mature them. Pink has claimed to be a “reformed sl-t” in the past.
Uniquely Sweet Proposal.
The couple got engaged in 2005 while he was racing at Mammoth Lakes. Pink held up a giant sign for him that read “Will you marry me? Serious!”
Uniquely Sweet Proposal.
Once Carey realized what the sign had said he pulled his bike off the track to accept her proposal. Carey recalled in an interview with Supercross magazine, “I said, ‘Well, yeah of course,’ and she said, ‘Well, get your ass back on the track. I don’t marry losers.”
They’re Both Hot-Heads.
Pink and Carey both have incredibly honest and upfront personalities. They also refuse to back down from a challenge–and that’s sometimes how they see their fights.

Arguments between the couple can get intense, so they tend to “take breaks,” according to Pink. In a 2016 interview she revealed, “We’ve had two breaks… the first one was about a year, and the second was 11 months.” She then added that they were “due” for another one soon.
The Low Point.
In 2008, just two years into their marriage things got pretty dicey. Pink told Redbook in 2013 that they took an 11 month long break because their schedules were getting in the way of being together.
The Low Point.
“We were working all the time; there was so much time between our visits. Carey would see me for five days and be gone for six weeks. We’d try to fix everything in those five days–you just can’t do that,” she explained to the magazine.
He’s Her Muse.
Pink included a nod to this dark time in her song “So What.” Carey appeared in the music video while they were still separated, and didn’t tell him what the song was about until he got to set. He took it in stride, telling Redbook that he think it’s “pretty special to be the muse.” He added, “It’s the good, the bad, the ugly. I wouldn’t expect anything else. That’s why I love her, and why we’re together.”

During that 11 month split, “I told him that he needed to come to my [hotel] room,” Pink explained to Redbook. “I had made him a photo album of all the cards he had ever given me, of all the photos of our entire relationship.”

She also included a photo of herself covered in blood from a video shoot, and she wrote on it, “This is me without you.” She gave him unsigned divorce papers as well, “And I did all of this in his favorite bra and panties.”
Kids’ Names.
In June 2011, Pink gave birth to their daughter Willow Sage Hart. Pink revealed the story behind her name in an interview: “I love the idea that a willow tree cannot be snapped or broken. And we burn sage all the time, it clears bad energy.” In 2016, Carey and Pink welcomed son Jameson Moon Hart.
Kids’ Names.
According to People the couple have always loved the name–in fact they picked it out in 2010 when she was pregnant with Willow. She told Access Hollywood then, “My dad’s name is James, and my brother’s name is Jason. [Carey and I] are both Irish, Carey’s middle name is Jason, and Jameson–we like whiskey. That’s a no brainer.”
