Geneviève Alison Jane Moyet, better known as Alison Moyet is an English singer/songwriter as well as a musician. Working for most of her career as a solo artist, she later joined another fellow musician and teamed up to be known as Yazoo. She began her professional career at the age of 21, when she and Vince Clarke, formed the Yazoo in the United States. But since there was already a Yazoo Recording studio, so they operated only as Yaz. The group came out with many hit songs like Nobody’s Diary, Situation, Only You and some more songs, although they could only release two albums. The band members sat and talked about their leaving the group in 1983 and they both have had their own careers since. Clarke went on to join and perform with another band whereas Alison started out her solo career. But the two of them reunited in 2008, and toured around as Yazoo, performing live across United States.
Regarding her personal career, Alison released her first album in 1984, named Alf in which the two musicians when working earlier composed the songs. Three of her songs were in the top 21 list of U.K’s hits singles chart and her song “All Cried Out” stayed at number 8. It was during that time, that she was involved romantically with her first boyfriend Kim McCarthy. Kim and Alsion started dating in 1983 and were seen together mostly, till 1989 when Alison broke up with him who was trying to get her married. The breakup was tough on her but still a couple of years later; she released another of her album named Hoodoo in 1991. It became a massive hit in Britain, and Moyet was nominated for a Grammys Award. From then to now, she has produced 5 different albums: Essex (1994), The Turn (2007), Voice (2008) as well as Home time (2008) and The Minutes which was her last album that came out in 2013.
