Known for his dashing looks, Cary Grant had proved himself as one of the classic Hollywood actors. His full name was Archibald Alexander Leach.
He was born in January 18, 1904 and died at the age of 82 on November 29, 1986. He is best known for his role in “Charade” in 1963.
He had worked in many successful movies from which he got nominated for Academy Award two times and Golden Award for five times.
He started his career as a Broadway artist from 1922 till 1931. He made his debut in the movies in “This is the Night” in 1932. Till that time, he was popular among the audience as well.
So, in that same year, he played seven more movies. His fame increased tremendously in 1930s. Till 1940s, he already worked in 39 movies. In 1941, he played the role of Roger Adams in the movie “Penny Serenade”.
From his act, he got nominated for Academy Award for Best Actor. He again got nominated for the Academy Award in 1944 for the movie “None but the Lonely Heart”.
In 1960s before his retirement, he played in many successful movies which also led him to get nominated for Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.

He was a tall guy with the height of 6 feet 1 inch and weight of 73 kg. In case of marriage, he got married for five times. He got married for the first time with Virginia Cherill in 1934 but got divorced in 1935.
Then, Barbara Hutton became his wife in 1942. But their relation also did not last for long period. They got divorced in 1945.
Then, Betsy Drake, Dyan Cannon and Barbara Harris followed. Barbara Harris was with him until his death. In the name of children, he got one daughter from Dyan Cannon.
And after his daughter was born, he made his retirement from the movie industry.
Cary had a good chemistry as well as on screen romance with Katharine Hepburn. They had played many movies together and the best one is “Holiday” in 1938. He was a very good friend of Randolph Scott as well.
They lived together for almost 10 years to save the expenses. But as they stopped living together, many people thought that they were the gay couple.
Later, Scott’s son challenged the rumors and published the book “Whatever Happened to Randolph Scott.” His shirtless pictures are still available on the internet.
His fans have made many accounts n twitter, Facebook as well as Instagram for his memory. He has left the legacy and his statue has also been built in 2001 in Millennium Square.
He was also listed in #1 in “The 50 Greatest Movie Stars of All Time”. He died of cerebral hemorrhage and left his considerable fortune to his fifth wife and the daughter.
