Christopher Eric Hitchens was as English author, journalist as well as a critic of literacy who was born on the 13th of April, 1949 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. He was born as the eldest of two sons to father Eric Ernest Hitchens, and mother Yvonne Jean Hitchens who met each other in Scotland while both of them were serving in the Royal Navy during the Second World War.
