Sight in the dark
Dogs are blessed with special night vision. No wonder they serve security purposes. This ability is made possible by tapetum lucidum, a special membrane in their eyes.
Dreamers
Just like humans, dogs have the ability to dream too. A major contributing factor to this is their possession of Rapid Eye Movement (REM) and Slow Eye Movement (SWS) just like humans.
Thou shall not sink!
It is a known fact that lapdogs, in particular, can swim. This ability saw two Pomeranians and one Pekingese survive the sinking of the Titanic ship. Guess what? They were in First-Class cabins!
Where is my tail?
Dogs are known to chase so many things, including their own tails! They do this when they are curious or anxious. They also do this when chasing fleas.
Excellent taste buds
Dogs have impressive taste buds. They have 1,700 taste buds. This is impressive when you consider that cats have only 473.
High pitch experts
Have you ever wondered why dogs have specialized whistles? It is because they hear better when the pitch of the sound is very high. Humans hear effectively at around 2,000 Hertz but dogs are better equipped when the sound is around 8,000 Hertz.
