Jani Lane was an American singe/musician and the vocalist of rock bands Warrant and Saints of the Underground. He was born on the 1st of February and was dead at the age of 47 on 11th of August, 2011. Jani was born in Akron, Ohio, United States of America as John Kennedy Oswald, the youngest of five children to mother Eileen Oswald and father Robert Oswald. Growing up with one elder brother and 3 elder sisters, he was inspired by music from a very young age and learned to play guitar, as well as drums along with his brother Eric, who also taught him to play piano. Likewise, his sister Vicky was his guide as well as partner in music and the three of them were always making up their own tunes since early youth days. It can be said that his brother was his gateway to music, and with his parent’s support, Jani started to play drums in local bars and pubs by 11, as “Mitch Dynamite”, a name he chose for himself while performing. A graduate from Field High School, he had initially thought about becoming a player and had also applied at Kent University for a scholarship on sports merit. But he changed his mind later and went on to pursuit his career and future in music. Born and raised in the USA, he was an American by nationality and belonged to white ethnicity.
Jani was a tall man, if not the tallest and had a good height. He was around a 185 cm, which is about 6 feet and an inch; a very good height. He was a big guy, with a very nicely built body, as he would exercise in the gym every day. He had disclosed in an interview that since a young boy, he always liked to stay in shape and had thought about going to the gym. With his long blonde hair and brown big eyes, he was known for trying a scarf around his forehead. It was a trend back in those days for rock musicians to get dressed up in all black with piercings, tattoos and nails. Likewise, Jani also had tattoos on his body, hands, arms and chest. He had two tattoos on his left arm, one on his right and a “Daddy’s Girl” with a heart, on his left chest. You can see those in his many shirtless pictures that are available on the media.
Regarding his personal life, Jani had a list of girlfriends, which he could not and didn’t hide from the media. He was open about his relationships, and having married three times, had dated several women in his life. He had been dating models and actresses like: Janine Lindemulder, Angela and Bekka Bramlett during the early part of his career, which was in the late 80s. Similarly, he was also in a relationship with Sherrie Rose for a year between 1989 and 1990. Having been with Amanda Brix in 1991, he also had a wife named Bobbie Brown whom he married 1991 but divorced in 1993, due to some reasons. Immediately after the divorce, he married for the second time with Rowanne Brewer. Although this was another short-lived relationship from 1996 to 2005, the couple had a daughter; Taylar Jane Lane before splitting up in 2006. The reason for that divorce was Jani’s relationships with women like Sheila Lussier and Julie McCullough. Then in 2009, he has another child; Madison Lane with his girlfriend Kimberly Nash, whom he got married with that it year. The couple was together till Jani’s death in 2011, and never really got divorced. He wasn’t sexually gay although his dresses and behavior might have suggested so.
