Phyllis Ada Driver, born on July 17, 1997, was a multitalented American actress, singer, comedienne, dancer as well as a voice artist. She is widely known as Phyllis Diller.
Diller was mostly known for her eccentric stage persona, her wild hair and clothes, self-deprecating humor and her exaggerated, crackling laugh. She was a famous, hardworking and talented in several fields. She had a successful career gaining a net worth of $15 million.
Diller was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. She was the only child of Perry Marcus Driver and Frances Driver. Her father was an insurance agent. Diller had German and Irish ancestry and was raised as Methodist.
Diller studied in Lima’s Central High School and later went to piano school for three years at Sherwood Music Conservatory of Columbia College Chicago.
She later met her fellow Limited, Hugh Downs at Bluffton College. Diller was a mother and housewife during World War II and was working as an advertising copywriter.
Her husband, Sherwood Anderson Diller worked at the Willow Run Bomber Plant. Later she made her career in comedy and decided against a career in music after hearing her teachers and tutors play with more skill than she thought she would achieve.
She didn’t leave playing altogether; she used to play her custom-made harpsichord. She started her career working at KROW radio in 1952.
She made her debut in a TV show called Phyllis Dillis, the Homely Friendmaker. She also worked in KSFO radio in San Francisco. She played as a stand-up at The Purple Onion in 1955.
Her famous works include movies including Splendor in the Grass, The Last Place on Earth, Silent Treatment, The Adding Machine, The Sunshine Boys, etc. and TV shows including Top Tomato!, Emily of New Moon, Animaniacs, Hey Arnold!, Love American Style, Robot Chicken, etc.

Her children did not have a good health and her first child Peter died of cancer, second child Sally had schizophrenia, Third child lived only two weeks, Fourth and fifth child Suzanne and Stephanie died of a stroke and had a son Perry.
Despite having many children and death of some, she had a gorgeous body with a normal height. She was 5 feet 1 inch tall and had green eyes with a weight of 110 pounds.
She also had plastic surgery when she was alive. She was one of the pioneering female comedians in her career.
She also dated Earl Muntz in her young life. She was also the partner of Robert P. Hastings until his death on 1996.
Diller began to suffer from many diseases after her 80th birthday and died at the age of 95 on August 20, 2012. She acted in more than 100 films and television series throughout her career.
