Ronald D. Moore Wiki, Bio, Wife, Divorce and Net Worth

Ronald D Moore is a popular off-screen personality who is often credited for success of loads of on-screen projects. Smart, mature, retrospective and analytical by nature, Moore is best known as writer or producer (or both) of several science fiction successes such as Star Trek Franchise (1988-1999), Battlestar Galactica (2003-2009), Mission Impossible II (2000) and Outlander (2014-present).

Unfortunately, we don’t know his net worth. But, given success of his most of the projects he has been involved with; it must be a high two digits number in millions. Surely, he has got potentialities to earn in three-digits-million figure all by himself if he can produce and write super hit movies just as he did with numerous TV shows. He has already proved his movie writing skills in Mission Impossible II.

What is that inspired the California born Roman Catholic to specialize in science fiction and fantasy?

If you didn’t know, he was deeply inspired by the first Apollo landing and Star Trek when he was a kid. And he first showcased his writing skills in his high school days writing dramas. After that, he studied Political science in Cornell University being guided by Navy ROTC scholarship. However, he lost the study charm in his senior year and dropped out only to complete his degree through Regents College later. In fact, he had dropped out to peruse a writing career.

So, what did he do next? Obviously, the next step for him was to peruse a navy career. He had deep respect for his military veteran father as well. So, he served on the frigate USS W.S.Sims during the summer of his freshman year for one month. It is said that he was just two weeks away from joining the Navy permanently when then executive producer of “Star Trek: The next Generation” called him only to congratulate him. He was awarded a writing job by the franchise upon being impressed by the script that he had sent it to Star Trek officials. After wasting years since graduation taking various jobs that were no interest to him, his patience had finally paid off.

The other important thing in his life after writing is certainly his Emmy and Designer Guild award winner wife Terry Dresbach who is artist and costume designer by profession.  Terry is his second wife. Previously, he was married to Rubby Moore who is reportedly a doctor.

Furthermore, Ronald has two children from Ruby: 14-year-old Roxy Josephine Moore Moore and 16 year old Roxy Josephine Moore. However, he has never revealed about the mother of his 32-year-old son Jonathan Michael Moore.

Now moving on to his physical configuration, he is an average tall man with the speculated height that lies in the range of 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches. Well, at the age of 51 as of 2015, his dark brown hair and French style beard are starting to whiten. Nevertheless, his neck length hairstyle has well suited him.

Anyway, Terry and Ronald married in the year 2004, one year after his divorce with girlfriend turned wife Ruby in 2003. His marriage with Ruby Moore occurred in the year 1995.
So, don’t you think here’s some level of love story running in the background? Indeed, there is. Ronald met Terry on the set of HBO drama Carnivale. Upon meeting with the customer designer and after some interactions, the confident man got a little cheesy.

I told her when she leaned forward, it was as if the sun came out, and when she leaned back, the sun went away.” – Ronald D. Moore, Nytime interview, 2015

And after just six weeks of their meeting, they got engaged. Isn’t that fantastic?

Not only that, he likes to keep his family member close to him especially his wife. The talented but over-weighed wife is also the custom designer of the show Outlander that Ronald developed. Previously, his children Roxy and Ron had worked in the Battle Star Galactica.

As for his gay rumors, we can safely say that he is not gay. But, Comic Con actor Mark Sheppard doesn’t think so. He made a public statement back in 2009 stating Ronald D. Moore is a gay. Probably, the actor who was also part of Battlestar Galactica underwent a conflicting situation with Ronald while working for the project.
